TASK 9a - ONLY FOR MUSIC VIDEOS - LYRIC ANALYSIS

SYNOPSIS:

This task encourages you to look at the lyrics of your chosen song and analyse the meanings behind the lyrics.  If you are inspired by a narrative based performance this task is key however if you are interested in a performance based narrative piece this will still help you understand the meanings behind the lyrics.

TASK:

Analyse the lyrics to your song.  You need to think about how lyrics need to “somehow” match the visuals when analysing.

Things to think about;

·       Write about what you think

·       What images come to mind

·       Are there any particular words that you want to identify in your piece

·       Are you using the words as a theme or picking out individual words

·       Do the verses have a different meaning to the chorus?
